Electrum Foundation

The Electrum Foundation pursues strategies that ensure continued growth in Kista Science City and a healthy collaboration between research, academia, the City and the business community. Growth should primarily take place through research-based and innovative growth companies based on the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The Electrum Foundation is active in issues concerning higher ICT training, global growth and innovation and its board comprises leading representatives from Ericsson, Acreo, IBM, Atrium Ljungberg, PacketFront, KTH and the City of Stockholm. The Electrum Foundation is responsible for developing a growth model in accordance with the Triple Helix principle – The Kista Model.

Strategy Councils
The Foundation’s work is supported by six strategy groups containing a cross-section of activities at Kista Science City. Their brief is to work with strategies, objectives and activities within the framework for each focus area, which contribute to the realisation of the Kista Science City vision.

To guarantee that objectives are achieved, two operative subsidiaries have been formed, Kista Science City AB and STING AB.

Subsidiary Kista Science City AB
Kista Science City AB’s main commission is to stimulate and secure growth among existing companies in the region, to attract new strategic companies to further boost growth, and to ensure that Kista Science City remains a living city. Creating a Science City – a living science-based district.

Subsidiary Stockholm Innovation & Growth AB
Stockholm Innovation & Growth AB (STING) is responsible for innovation and startup activities for new technology companies in Kista Science City and the Stockholm region and is a support system for innovators and technology entrepreneurs who are interested in creating major new export companies.
